The short answer
For a typical event at an event hall, ending before 2 AM, with no add-ons, our prices are:
| Guests | Quick Clear | Full Reset | Spotless |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | $249 | $286 | $403 |
| 100 | $260 | $468 | $650 |
| 150 | $351 | $650 | $897 |
| 250 | $533 | $1,014 | $1,391 |
Quick Clear covers trash, tables and a floor sweep. Full Reset adds breaking down tables and chairs, packing décor, cleaning the kitchen, bar and restrooms, and mopping. Spotless adds the grounds, rental staging and a room-by-room photo checklist for strict venues.
What other companies charge
Few event cleanup companies publish prices, and the ones that do use flat packages rather than per-guest pricing. These are figures from their own websites as of October 2026:
- Night Shift Authority, Chicago area: packages from $249, $399 and $649, with overnight crews from 11 PM to 4 AM (source)
- Event Cleaning Chicago: private events from $395, venue turnovers from $795, larger commercial cleanups from $1,490 (source)
- Morning After Cleaners, New York: venue work from $450 per event (source)
- Vow to Clean, Austin: wedding cleanup from $400 to $1,600 (source)
- Poof Party Cleanup: $500 minimum (source)
Residential cleaning services that take after-party jobs charge less, but they clean homes rather than tear down events. Hello Cleaners lists after-party cleans from $140 for a small home to $460 for four bedrooms, plus $40 to $120 for trash removal (source). Hourly, cost guides put house cleaners at $25 to $75 per cleaner per hour (HomeGuide) and Thumbtack puts them at $40 to $55 per hour (Thumbtack).
What drives the price
Guest count
More guests means more plates, cups, bottles, chairs and linens. It's the single biggest factor. Per-guest cost drops a little as events get bigger, because setup time is shared.
The venue
A hotel ballroom where banquet staff clear tables and linens takes less work than a barn where everything was brought in. Tents, fields and parks take the longest because the grounds need walking as well. Homes take about the same time as an event hall: smaller spaces, but more care around furniture and a kitchen to finish.
How much time the venue gives you
If the venue wants everyone out an hour after the last dance, the job needs more people working at once. With us, every person sent is billed for at least two hours, so a short window costs more than a long one. Starting 30 minutes early on rooms guests have left is usually the cheapest way around a tight deadline.
Time of night
We don't charge extra for late nights until 2 AM. After that, labor costs 15% more. A next-morning visit is 10% cheaper, if your venue allows you to leave things overnight. Many don't.
What else needs to happen
Hauling the trash away (when there's no dumpster), taking down ceiling draping and string lights, and packing gifts into a car each add time. Our pricing page lists every add-on.
Compared with doing nothing
If you leave the venue in worse shape than the contract allows, the venue fixes it and bills you. Wedding venues typically charge a cleaning fee of $300 to $500 when they clean up themselves (Wisteria Gardens). A review of 33 venues' published policies found a median security deposit of $625 for wedding and private event venues, ranging from $300 to $2,500 (RapidEye).
Some contracts spell out the cost directly. One Connecticut venue charges $200 for breakdown and cleanup if the renter doesn't do it (CAD Luxury). A St. Louis venue's $1,000 deposit can be kept for failing to leave the building clean (Jewel Box rental terms).
Compared with doing it yourself
Doing it yourself costs nothing in cash. It costs whoever stays: usually four to six family members or friends for two to three hours after a 100-guest reception, after a long day, with no one in charge of the checklist. Supplies (heavy bags, gloves, a mop, a cart) run about $50 to $100 if you don't already have them.
How to spend less
- Ask the rental company whether dishes and linens can go back dirty. Many prefer them scraped but unwashed.
- Put clearly labeled trash and recycling stations out before guests arrive. Our trash planning guide shows how many you need.
- Have the caterer box leftovers before they leave.
- Choose the early start over extra crew when the venue deadline is tight.
- Book more than 48 hours ahead to avoid the short-notice fee.
